Membership and Touring Venue
Membership
The Club can boast a fully integrated membership. The first lady member joined in 1932 and the Club has been administered by a mixed gender Management Committee for many years. The current total membership is approximately 130, of which 107 are full members. The remainder are either social members or devoted short mat players. Current fees are £70 for full membership and £12 for social members. A Club rule requires white above the waist for all evening matches and practices. Afternoon, friendly, matches are played in whites.

Touring Teams
Many clubs have short tours during the summer and they are most welcome to visit our Club. They would be ensured of a friendly but competitive match playing against our members. There are 16 clubs in North Devon and, as the Club is on the border and within easy reach of the M5 motorway, many touring sides make a visit the initial or last on their tour. Devon cream teas are always provided to touring sides, but full meals can be made available. The natural beauty of the region, which includes Exmoor National Park and the coast makes touring here an attractive venue. Enquiries should be made to the Fixture Secretary.
New Members Welcomed
The Club is renowned for the friendliness of its members but to maintain a healthy and vibrant membership, people who may never before have considered the sport are encouraged to try it prior to applying for membership. At least three 'open evenings' and Sunday mornings during May are held where any person can come along and have a go. English Bowls Scheme accredited Coaches are on hand to provide guidance to beginners. The coaches explain the objectives of the game and make arrangements for prospective members to meet the Club Secretary. Applying for membership couldn't be simpler but applications have to be made 14 days prior to the monthly management meeting.
